Meeting in 2013 via Kijiji ads in Calgary AB, Ten Minute Detour has been a staple in the Canadian indie music scene for over 10 years. TMD cut their teeth touring the country and honing in on their live performance.

Their last album ‘Golden Tapestry’, released in Fall 2022, was an exploration of more thoughtful and creative songwriting. Venturing further from their garage rock roots the album brandishes an Americana folk essence, while harnessing the energy of a band in full stride. In support of their new LP, TMD took the stage playing venues across Canada. In the past year, recent highlights include selling out The Ironwood Stage and Festival Hall in Calgary, AB, as well as opening for popular bands MONOWHALES (Toronto), Reuben And The Dark (Calgary), CVC (Wales) and Mo Lowda & the Humble (Philadelphia). The band has also recently played New York City’s New Colossus Festival, Saint Roche XP Festival (Quebec City, QC) and Fall2Fest (Galt, ON) supporting prominent Canadian acts Said The Whale and Dwayne Gretzky.

 

On the heels of  'Golden Tapestry', the band spent some time in Montreal working on their upcoming set of songs. With veteran producer Marcus Paquin (Local Natives, Tim Baker) at the helm, TMD recorded three songs that encompass the same warmth and groove that you feel when walking into Montreal’s studio Mix Art. With three separate releases set for Spring and Summer 2024 with Canadian label partner Neon Moon Records, Ten Minute Detour is poised to continue their upwards trajectory to becoming a staple in the Canadian music scene.
